Turkish virtual credit card: Netflix Turkey without VPN - 1. October 2023

If you want to save costs and subscription fees for services like Netflix, Disney+, PSN, Steam, Xbox Store, Youtube Premium and many others, you have certainly heard it before: If you get the services from abroad, you can save real money!

Because subscriptions and services often have much lower costs abroad (e.g. in Turkey) than in USA or UK / GB (United Kingdom / Geat Britain) an other parts of the world!

While in the past you only needed a VPN to get cheap subscriptions from abroad or to get cheaper price abroad, today you have to do something different!

That’s because the VPN approach no longer works for most services like Netflix, Disney+, PSN, Steam, Xbox Store and Youtube Premium.

What does work, however: Apply for a Turkish credit card or a virtual Turkish credit card and pay with it.

In Turkey, for example, the cheapest subscription to Netflix costs only about 2.50 GBP/USD/EUR while in the UK, USA or Germany it costs 7.99 GBP/USD/EUR. The most expensive subscription costs about 5.13 GBP/USD/EUR in Turkey and 17.99 GBP/USD/EUR in the UK, USA or Germany.

The following steps are necessary to get a (virtual) Turkish credit card and use it for payment:

Step 1: Open a free Revolut account – choose your country: 1) link to Revolut Germany >> 2) link to Revolut UK >> 3) link to Revolut International (all other) >>
Step 2: Top up Revolut account (e.g. with 10 or 30 GBP / USD / EUR)
Step 3: At Revolut: Convert the desired GBP/USD/EUR amount into Lira
Step 4: Open the Turkish credit card “ininal” (www.ininal.com)
Step 5: Send the desired amount of Lira to the Turkish credit card from the Revolut account.
Step 6: Pay the cheap subscriptions from Turkey with the (virtual) Turkish credit card

Turkish credit card in UK / GB (United Kingdom / Geat Britain), USA, Germany, …

In recent years, a remarkable trend can be observed in which people from all over the world are becoming more and more interested in Turkish subscriptions. The reason for this is obvious: many services and subscriptions, such as streaming platforms or online magazines, are significantly cheaper in Turkey than in other countries. These price differences have aroused the interest of many consumers in benefiting from the cheaper offers in Turkey.

It used to be easier to benefit from these price differences, as it was sufficient to use a VPN service to assign oneself an IP address from Turkey. This allowed access to Turkish prices without having to be physically in Turkey. One could conveniently sign up for a Turkish subscription from the UK for example and benefit from the cheaper rates.

But times have changed. Many providers have recognized this practice and taken countermeasures. Today, most subscriptions require a Turkish credit card to qualify for the Turkish offer. This new regulation has made it more difficult for consumers in the UK, USA or Germany for example to access the cheaper subscriptions.

Nevertheless, curiosity and interest in the cheaper Turkish subscriptions remains. Some people are still finding ways to take advantage of the cheaper terms, whether through friends and relatives in Turkey or through other legal means. What once started as a simple option has evolved into a more complex challenge, but one that does not diminish the desire for cheaper subscriptions. The trend shows that the global market is becoming more interconnected, and consumers are willing to cross borders to find the best deal.

Netflix Turkey without VPN

What were those days when you just had to turn on a VPN for a short while to get cheap memberships via Turkey. But in the meantime, unfortunately, you keep coming across this error message:

“You need a card from the corresponding country.”

Are those interested now out of luck and the whole thing won’t work anymore? No, because we just get a Turkish credit card, and how that works, we show you here.

It works with the so-called “Ininal”: a Turkish and virtual prepaid credit card.

In the video, the whole thing was played through and so a few pitfalls exposed or things that have also changed in the meantime, and therefore we go through the whole thing now again systematically.

Prerequisite 1: Passport

Strictly speaking, there are two requirements that you have to fulfill in order to be able to complete the whole thing. First, and this is the more important point, you need a passport, and I’m not talking about your ID card, but I really mean a real passport for international air travel, for example to the U.S. or something.

When you have your passport out of the drawer, you first go and take two pictures of it. The first one should only show the passport, i.e. take a picture of the front, maybe crop it a bit, so that everything is clearly visible. And the second picture must be your face, a selfie, that is, with the front camera and the passport next to your face. That means that if I hold it up here like this, then the area, i.e. passport, face, are both recognizable, so that you can simply verify later that this is really you on the passport.

Requirement 2: Account with the currency exchange function

Second point: I would recommend a Revolut account. Theoretically it also works with other options, but Revolut is also in principle just like ininal a yes virtual credit card or account, but a normal one.

And why do we need all this? We’ll get to that later, because we then use it to charge our ininal credit card. I’ll explain later why exactly we do this via Revolut.

On the ininal page you should first switch to your language: There you have to fill in all data!

It is best to fill in the data as shown in the video above.

Loading credit on the Turkish virtual prepaid credit card

How do I get credit on this card? That’s not so easy, because it’s still a Turkish account, and theoretically you can probably transfer money from any account to Turkey, but who knows what fees will be charged.

So that no unnecessary costs arise Revolut is used: Then you have hardly any friction losses!

Only if you do it on the weekend, then Revolut takes a kind of protection fee, because the exchange rate can still change, so I would recommend you to do the whole process within the week.

Of course, I got the card number from my email app, and if that’s the case, then I can send Turkish lira directly, that is, I have to select the currency, Turkish lira, and here at this point it’s important to select the Turkish exchange from Revolut, and not the one with the GBP/USD/EUR, because otherwise you’ll send GBP/USD/EUR over, and then exchange fees will be due again.

So, then here is below directly estimated arrival, usually within a few minutes, we test. Your transfer is processed, and I also get a notification directly, and then I also check whether that is really true that the money has already arrived. That is, I log in to my account at Ininal.

Subscribing with the Turkish credit card

For testing purposes, the Xbox Store, i.e. from Microsoft, was used and the whole thing works without VPN, which means you can simply log into the Turkish store and then buy there accordingly.

If you do that for the first time, then you have to enter your card there again first and accordingly also enter an address again, there I would say, we have then simply used, because that works well. Yes, confirm once, and that worked, and we just saved 90% compared to the UK, US or German price, without having to do anything great.

We just used our Turkish credit card and paid. Of course, you can do that with all games that are offered here at Microsoft. The person in the video said: Recently done with Cyberpunk for under 8 GBP/USD/EUR, and you can do that with Game Pass, which is Microsoft’s subscription.

Conclusion: Use Turkish credit card from UK, USA, Germany, …

So: If you want to use Netflix Turkey without a VPN or use services like Netflix, Disney+, PSN, Steam, Xbox Store and Youtube Premium via a Turkish subscription, you can do so with a Turkish credit card.

In the first step, a Revolut account is opened for this purpose and then the virtual Turkish credit card or Turkish credit card is topped up and used for payment – completely without VPN!
